I booked a car rental through kayak and went to pick up the car and Enterprise was closed. I couldn't get a hold of anyone through customer service or anything. Apparently Kayak doesn't keep up to date with hours at Enterprise, I was very upset and was stuck with no car after driving all the way there.

Cons:

Car smelled pretty bad the whole time. Seemed like a previous renter had thrown up in it and the car cleaning did not do the trick.

I went to Congress St in Springfield, MA to pick up the car I reserved and they did not have a car for me and the guy at the desk said, "Too bad!" -After three phone calls with not much help I was told I had to travel 45 minutes to another location and they wanted to charge me $40.00 more than my initial reservation. Finally things got resolved at the Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks, CT location, but I would not ever recommend Springfield Budget. Friends don't let friends rent from Budget! Avoid at all cost!!!

that day when I went to pick up the car, they told me that there was no car, and imagine that I had to fly the next day from New York outside the USA, I had to urgently look for a rental car and found it from the airport in Hartford, CT, I categorically dissatisfied...

Price for a two week rental was reasonable. The agents I interacted with on pick up and return were friendly & professional.

Cons:

We rented a Nissan Versa. Hands down the most uncomfortable car I’ve ever been in. Certainly not their fault but I’ll know better next time. I wasn’t informed that even though I paid for the rental in advance there would be an additional $200 deposit held on my credit card until the car was returned. I don’t think that’s unreasonable but felt that should be made known in advance.

Reserved a luxury SUV (Audi Q5 or equivalent was stated). When I arrived I was given the choice of only two SUV’s, both Ford Expedition Max. The vehicle is the biggest SUV Ford makes…6000lbs, 7 passenger and 20’ long. Not a luxury SUV and a gas guzzler averaging 13 mpg. You need a step ladder to climb into the vehicle. Was not a pleasant experience trying to drive and park that thing around Charleston SC.

Lady at the counter was asleep and had this attitude where she seems to not want to work and just want to get you out of there. Terrible service. We booked at Budget instead which was right next to National and had way better service.

I didn't like national due the over charge was out rageous, getting charged 80 cents kilometers when it'd suppose to be 33 cents kilometers. They were charging 3000 kilometers when it's 23650 n charging 2000 in kilometers charges when he said I was out of province, they gave me a Alberta license plate car n now they want to charge me, the attitude from the man was very rude,problems with car and said couldnt do anything, I need to be treated like criminal, when it's criminal the way they try and scam you. I will never rent from another rental car company again especially your company, I don't give you any stars and a poor review. Worst company.. the way he ordered me to pay and the way he talked to me in public, he said I don't need to talk to him like that when he kept refusing to give the mangers number and argued with me n when people were staring he said I don't need to be treated this and talked in his language and got angry gave me the number after 20 min, I walked 2 hours home passed off with the treatment and then the guy took the car out and literally stepped on the pedal went more then speed limit on the airport road, he was mad with ne cause I refuse to pay 3000 dollars for double the amount to what was told.. never rent a car in fort st john they will rob you blind...

Despite having a reservation to rent a car for a single day in Puebla, when we showed up we were told there was no car available. Then the man at the front desk said there was a car available but it would be more expensive due to local tax. We were okay with this, but he then said we needed to put down a deposit of $5000 usd, which seemed crazy for just one day. He then changed the deposit amount to $88 usd. The entire interaction felt like he was just making up numbers. It felt very sketchy so we decided to forget renting a car entirely and just traveled via bus…..

Check in online was good but the next step to select vehicle was very disappointing- did not go through. Then no response. Thrifty counter at airport was closed- long line at Dollar counter: then had to go on lower level at another counter to get car. Nearly 2 hours before we get car: what’s the use of checking online?

Terrible customer service and gave me a crappy car, low tire pressure at start and ask customer to fill it on the way, engine oil life of 10%. Cause delay on my trip schedule. Charge full at the end of the trip regardless of faulty car and bad customer.

Full size SUV is not a ford edge similar to high lander. Car was not clean when picked up and we had to identify multiple scratches and dents not included on the form so with no attendant outside we had to walk back inside to the rental counter to add them to the form before leaving (extra 20 min process)

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
